Spark of Life within human

There are many cultures, traditions and people(s) who have long believed that the Spark of Life resides within all humans. Scientist have captured images of this spark of life ignited the very moment a human sperm cell makes contact with an egg.

Quakers, who were originally called “Children of the Light”, believe everyone has an inner light of illumination. Namaste, in the Hindu tradition, is a gesture signifying that the Life Energy, Divine, God, or/and Spark of Light/Life, within me is the same in all. The Doukhobor tradition, through which I was born, also shares this belief.

Recognizing and acknowledging the Spark of Life within each other, and ourselves, is akin to being present to our shared humanity. The words human, humility and humus are related and rooted in the Earth. Here, on the ground level, we all share the same basic and core needs. Living our life knowing and seeing the Spark within humans, while rooted in our common ground, we reserve a space between us for the optimal good for all to emerge. We reserve a place for peace.

The physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies housing this Life Energy are all unique and diverse. You are an expression, agent and spokesperson for your bodies and I am an expression, agent and spokesperson for mine. Being still we can connect with ourselves ~ our bodies of being. With loving kindness, our attention to the Spark of Life within expands, encompasses what is, and gives way to something new. Deeply listening we can get a sense of calling and what is emerging. We catalyze our agency.

The Spark of Life doesn’t belong to me, nor does it belong to you. It is part of the Essence of Life and Life energy. It is life giving and life sustaining. Life continually emerges through us and we evolve. For life is a series of natural and spontaneous transformations. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Here in this ever-evolving life is a lesson of non-attachment. We labour to cultivate a field in which some seeds may take a long time to sprout, take root, blossom and bear fruit. Some are quicker. We labour for now and for posterity with equal vigor and perseverance knowing either way we are always contributing to the field of being and becoming.

Consider learning for the sake of learning life’s lessons - our masterclass. There is a future of possibility and growth. It is a future that is right here, right now, greeting us. Your future depends on you. My future depends on me. Our future depends on our agency to choose the greatest potential and optimal good for all.

With our deeper levels of being we can sense our connection and intentionality. With our deeper levels of being we can sense our shared field and the need to listen to one another in a non-judging, and non-shutting down way. We can redirect our attention and listen to the place someone else is speaking from. Tending to what is we also allow the new to emerge.

We all know of the hardships in life. Some have gone through, and/or are going through, great tragedies. We also know the beauty and joy of life and humanity. May we share the burden of our fellow humans to lighten the load and celebrate each others joys amplifying the goodness. May the awe of The Spark of Life within each other and ourselves move our hearts to love and its attributes: patience, kindness, generosity, humbleness, courtesy, altruism, good temperedness, guilelessness, sincerity, gratitude, endurance, forgiveness, courage; may we take love in action.

May we align with our body, heart, mind, soul with spirit, with God and spark of Life within; listen to Life emerge through us and activate our agency. May we remember our connection to Life and each other ~ our interbeing; cultivate a fertile field of being, allowing the optimal good for all to emerge and grow and peace to flow.
